I have heard many people over the years tell me that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit wasn’t for them.  Most of them didn’t really doubt the truth of the experience, just that it wasn’t for them.  It is unfortunate that so many people have squelched this beautiful gift from God in their own lives and others.  I was going through a rough time a number of years back because I had been lied about and I was taking it pretty hard.  I shared it with my father-in-law and he shared a wonderful saying with me.  Here it is:  Truth Floats.  Truth floats.  In other words, one day the truth will come out and you will be shown to be a man of honesty and integrity. 

Here’s another truth that is floating to the top right now.  The gift of the Holy Spirit is for you today, right now.  I’ve heard people, Christian people, say a lot of things about what Jesus was and what He wasn’t.  But one thing I have heard time and again is that Jesus was prejudiced.  No, they don’t say it in those words.  They said it more like this.  “Jesus meant the gift of the Spirit was only for the disciples so they could get the church up and running till the religious people could take control of it.”  They said things like, “The gift of the Holy Spirit is really only for a particular part of the Christian population.  It’s not for everybody.” 

If I know one thing about Jesus it is this:  Jesus is not prejudiced.  The Bible clearly teaches that God’s gifts of salvation and empowerment by the Holy Spirit are for everyone.  No matter what you have thought or what you have been told, the gift of the Holy Spirit is for you.   Let the truth of Jesus’ own words float to the top and receive this free gift today, your divine potential is counting on it.
