Spirit-filled Speech
I have recognized Christ as Savior for the majority of my life, but have only recently come to recognize Him as my Lord. What I noticed when I truly surrendered was that my speech became more glorifying. However, even though I have not used cursing or swearing for years, there has lingered in my language ONE WORD which creeps out whenever I am frustrated or angered. I have wanted this word to be eliminated from my vocabulary for years, but it’s been stubbornly persistent.
During the message last Sunday about Spirit-filled speech, I asked Jesus to fill me with His Spirit in EVERY area. My longing was for His Spirit to become real to me, not just in my thoughts, but in my actions as well. As I proceeded to live through the week, of course, situations came up which frustrated or angered me. But I noticed that THAT WORD was GONE!! The word which escaped from my lips in these situations was almost like rainbows and flowers; I have no other way to describe it. The Holy Spirit has taken my awful word out and put His beautiful word into my mouth!

Re: Spirit-filled Speech

I think that this is one of the most miraculous things that can happen as the Spirit is allowed to have full control in our lives.  I believe that Holy Spirit truly does remove our - fleshly, negative, cursing, cussing, worldly- words and puts His - pure, holy, blessing, giving, merciful, graceful, wisdom, knowledge, prophetic etc. - words into our mouths.

PTL for your testimony.

" I'm way late on letting you know how enthused I am about the P50 publication. This is a wonderful resource that gets beyond the fluff and usual muddledness about the usage of spiritual gifts. Really tangible stuff and thanks for making me aware of this. "
